At Opkikkerdag in Lelystad, there were plenty of Porsches around, but the weather was a bit odd all day. That made photography tricky in places. Still, one part of the event really worked for me: the banked track. That setting gave the cars a bit more drama and made it easier to create shots with real movement and atmosphere.
One of the highlights was photographing the police Porsche there. That definitely attracted attention. People kept looking to see what I was doing, which happens quite often when you start carefully placing a small model car near a real one. It still makes me smile every time.
Even with strange weather, you can get something special if the location gives you enough character. Lelystad did exactly that. The banked curves, the Porsches and the reactions from people nearby made it a fun and memorable day.
