A friend sent me a photo of a Porsche Dakar spotted in our city, and that was all I needed. I jumped on my bike, grabbed a 1:64 Mini GT, and went looking for it as fast as I could. Street spots always have a bit of urgency. The car might still be there, or it might already be gone by the time you arrive.

When I found it, the light was terrible. Way too dark for clean photos. Normally that would mean game over. Then a woman walking her dog happened to pass by with a flashlight. That little extra bit of light was enough to help me make a few usable images. Not perfect, but definitely worth it.

That is what I love about street spotting. Sometimes the whole photo depends on chance, speed and one random person with a dog and a flashlight. The Porsche Dakar was a very good reason to take that gamble. Want the full gallery?
