The car season is back, and this visit to Gallery Aaldering in Brummen felt like a very good way to start it. Before we left, I checked the website and picked out three cars I really wanted to see in person. That always makes it more fun once you actually walk in and spot them for real.

One of my favorite series of the afternoon featured a beautiful yellow Porsche 911 S. I photographed it with a 1:43 Minichamps model and focused on some of the details that make the car so good to shoot, esp

ecially the characteristic bumpers. Cars like this do not need to shout. The shape does all the work.

Another highlight was seeing a Porsche 918 Spyder and Carrera GT standing next to each oth

er. I had the matching Minichamps dealer models with me, which made it possible to create one of those shots I really enjoy: four cars in one frame, with the real cars and the model cars echoing each other. That is exactly the kind of image I hope for when I bring models along.
