Close to Home: A 992 GT3 Touring and Three Minichamps Models

Some shoots ask for a long drive, a border crossing and an early alarm. This one started around the corner. In the streets and lanes around my hometown I met the owner of a Porsche 992 GT3 Touring, and what followed was one of the most relaxed sessions I have had in a long time.

The Touring is the quiet one in the GT3 family. The big wing stays at home, the four litre flat six stays exactly where it belongs, and the result is a car that looks understated until it starts. Seeing it in familiar surroundings, on roads I drive every week, made it feel even more special.

I brought three Minichamps 992 GT3 models in 1:43 scale. Three versions of the same car, each placed against the real thing in a different setting. The owner gave me all the space I needed. He moved the car when the light asked for it, waited patiently while I lay on the ground with a model a few centimetres from the front splitter, and between the shots we simply talked. About the car, about driving it, about why a 911 keeps pulling people in. That conversation is as much a part

of this series as the photographs.

This is what MiniFlatSix is about for me. A real Porsche, its scale counterpart, and an owner who enjoys the idea as much as I do. Generosity like this is what makes the work possible, and I am very grateful for it.

The full galleries from this trip will arrive on the site in the coming weeks. Follow @miniflatsix on Instagram to be the first to see them.
