We visited the Loh Collection in Germany, and it instantly became one of the most impressive museums I have ever seen. The place itself is stunning, but what really got me were the Porsches displayed in beautifully stacked racks. It felt like walking through a dream garage designed by someone who completely understands car fans.
I spotted several fantastic 917s, but one of my favorite photo series from the museum was built around a Carrera Lightweight. I have that model in both 1:43 and 1:64, which made it extra fun to work with. The lighting inside the museum was excellent, and that always makes a huge difference. When the light is right, the real car and the model car suddenly start speaking the same language.
Some museums are interesting. Some are unforgettable. The Loh Collection belongs in the second category. For Porsche photography, it was an absolute gift. Want the full gallery? Explore the Gallery and follow @miniflatsix on Instagram for more Porsche photography and model cars.
